It was just so wrong of the Fox network to pre-empt "The Fringe" last night for "American Idol." Just before 9:00 last night, I turned on the television and settled back in my cozy pajamas with my dog and husband by my side (also fans) in great anticipation of another cool episode of my favorite show, "The Fringe." I couldn't believe it when Ryan Seachrist said they would be back after the commercial break with somebody singing some song. Even after the clock struck 9:01, I didn't want to believe it. I mean, is there such a dirth of family friendly shows on television that people are watching thousands of wannabe singing stars get up on stage and ruin a perfectly good song? I get it when the final competition begins, but the audition phase that meanders across the country and finally ends up in Hollywood is just bad television! Of course, this is an oxymoron since most of television is bad. And this brings me to my final plea to the Fox network to refrain from pulling "The Fringe" from the schedule. At least consider moving it to 10:00, which is an appropriate time slot for an adult entertainment show (because I think "The Fringe" is a bit too graphic for children). But then you would have to pull the sorry excuse for a news program at 10:00. Now that's a scary show--5 minutes of information hidden among pseudo 3D graphics, loud anchor people prancing around the stage and socializing with each other while intermittently advertising the promise of a news segment over the span of 60 minutes! In honor of "American Idol" fans, imagine I'm singing this to the tune of another aging rock band's famous song . . . I want my "Fringe" TV!! (cStepgirl)
